Thinking about starting a business? Have a really great idea but no clue where to start? We’ve all been there. Whether you sell candles, cookies or services starting a business is a step toward financial freedom and being your own boss. Now that you have that killer idea you might be asking what is next? How do I get started? There can be many pathways to success but finding the right path is what will make you confident and successful. Remember that Rome was not built in a day and that millions are not made overnight.

So what do you need? A few key items to keep in mind are a kickass business name, your primary goals and what need you are filling. I recommend setting a launch date for your business and working backwards. Let’s say you want to go live in 90 days, well you must first get organized. If you are launching an online store you will need to decide what platform you will use for ecommerce, set up your payment platform and get yourself an LLC, check your state’s tax information and get a bank account for your business. If you are launching a service based business you will need to make similar moves but a basic website and contract are priorities.
